With English Focus

After the considerable successes of the previous editions, we are pleased once more to announce our four talk shows at the Made Expo exhibition area, with ‘time out’ for an aperitif at the stand of the Gruppo 24 ORE. The discussions shall concern a number of key themes for designers over the coming years.

English for Architecture… let’s talk about it with Paolo Bulletti

At the end of each "Pillola" (brief sessions dedicated to architectural issues), we shall return to the themes of the encounter with some surprising video shows in English, accompanied by comments and suggestions from architect Paolo Bulletti, who will guide us through some of the translations errors and misunderstandings that most frequently arise during dealings between principals and partners

Future is under construction

Dry, energy-efficient, prefabricated, low-cost. These are the characteristics of the constructions of the coming years. Market data indicate constant growth in the application of stratified, dry-wall construction technologies. Indeed, the recently formulated energy-saving requisites tell us why − within the ambit of the provision of appropriate, flexible solutions for the various problems posed by projects − we may reasonably expect an increase in the application of Structure/Sheathing techniques, also in the residential sector. The construction elements are catalogue-listed. These elements are practically all produced industrially and on-site. The elements are combined dry, as per the architectural-technological project.

"Green" materials for interior spaces

Eco-active, recomposed and recycled materials, manufactured by means of sustainable technologies − a look at experimental and catalogue-listed products, and their most interesting applications in the field of interior design. Plus a ‘sneak preview’ of some of the materials for the Expo 2015 pavilions provided by the Ufficio di Piano (masterplan workshop) of Expo 2015, in collaboration with Material Connexion®. Lastly, suggestions for drawing up a (digital and hard-copy) support library of materials for designers.

New envelopes and shading systems

Envelopes and sun shading systems constitute the area of greatest interest within the ambit of the development of contemporary projects. Indeed, many architects and façade specialists are engaged in research into integrated solutions enabling positive symbiosis between "envelope" and "function". The combination, if appropriately configured, becomes highly synergic and also constitutes an vitally important tool for control of the energy performance ratings of buildings. Sunscreens, blinds, curtains and rolling gate systems − the very latest shading solutions −, plus calculation software for rapid controls while the project is under way, and data useful for obtaining the documentation required for energy certification. The meeting shall look into all the information required by working teams to rapidly verify feasible solutions on the basis of reliable data.
