"THE CULTURE OF DESIGN AND BUSINESS"

The third edition of the Laboratorio di Architettura Exhibition, organized by OF ARCH magazine for MADE expo 2010, a d d resses the theme of technological research applied to the world of construction and its components.

Curated by Franco Mirenzi and Fortunato D’Amico, the exhibition investigates the relationship between architecture schools, construction companies, materials manufacturers, systems installers. Four Italian universities will present projects and construction systems created in close collaboration with the other actors in the construction cycle. The design work from the Italian architecture schools: Università Iuav in Venice, Ferdinando II in Naples, the Faculty of Architecture in Reggio Calabria and the Faculty of Architecture in Siracusa, will illustrate technological research focused on the creation of a dialogue with construction companies, manufacturers and users and on the needs of contemporary society. The cultural exhibition will also, as in previous years, host a non-stop program of round table discussions and lectures in its convention area.

In addition to the presentation of the projects developed within the architecture schools, the Workshop will also present, in the lounge area, an interesting initiative dedicated to the theme of water: the project, designed by Francesca Grassi by Studio Rota, responds to the objectives of the event by offering a space to talk about and reflect on technology and the natural elements of our habitat.

In this context, the presentation of works by Andreas Kipar, Maurizio Varratta, Enrico Frigerio and Marco Acerbis testify to the increasing attention being paid by contemporary architecture to the environment.

The 2010 Laboratorio di Architettura will also inaugurate DDN TV, the first web-tv dedicated exclusively to the world of design and architecture. Films, videos and live streaming from all over Italy and the world may be easily consulted at the portal designdiffusion.com.

In particular, during MADE expo 2010, in addition to the exhibitions and lectures of the Workshop, DDN TV will also be there among the stands of the leading manufacturers in the field to test the mood of the industry, and to discover the new projects being introduced on the market.
