CELLULAR COMPARTMENTS TO ACCOMMODATE THE YOUNG GUESTS OF EXPO 2015

After the big success achieved in the first edition, InstantHouse - a contest aimed at students and new graduates of Italian and foreign Architecture, Engineering and Industrial Design faculties - will return on the occasion of MADE expo 2010.

The event, organised by FederlegnoArredo in conjunction with the Milan Polytechnic, intends to focus the attention of designers on two elements this year: the environment and soundscape. The theme of the 2009-2010 contest is in fact “Temporary housing_SOUNDSCAPES”, or environment and soundscape in contemporary cities.

The projects will be selected on the basis of their ability to promote architecture that is sensitive to the environment and territory, sustainability and needs in terms of well-being and quality of life; at the same time it will have to be a temporary dwelling, tied to the presence of young people with a high degree of territorial mobility during particular metropolitan events like Expo 2015; a link will thus be created with the content of last year’s first edition.

Entrants must submit their registration and the required plans by 12 noon, 25 November 2009 to the head office of FederlegnoArredo, Foro Buonaparte 65, 20121 Milano, Italy.
