DECOR & COLOR SHOW

EXHIBITION OF COLOUR, EXTERIOR FINISHES AND INTERIOR DECORATION
DECOR & COLOR SHOW: IN MILAN, COLOUR AGAIN TO PLAY A STARRING ROLE!
Expectations are on the rise for the new edition of the Decor & Color Show, exhibition of colour, exterior finishes and interior decoration. This exhibition - the most important in the sector in Italy and among the top events in Europe and worldwide - will take place in the pavilions of the Milan Exhibition Centre in Rho from 3 to 6 February, within the framework of MADE expo, a major event dedicated to architecture, design and building.
The Decor & Color Show thus comes back on centre stage, buoyed by the excellent results obtained in 2008 and galvanised by the attendance of over 200 thousand visitors at MADE expo 2009. In the expectations of exhibitors, the upcoming Decor & Color Show will be not only an opportunity for exchanging ideas, but also a big occasion for re-launching the whole sector, which is experiencing a year of tension and uncertainty such as had not been seen for some time.
ROLE OF THE DECOR & COLOR SHOW
Over the years, the Decor & Color Show has come to play a leading role within the panorama of international exhibitions which showcase innovations, technologies, systems, products and services regarding the world of colour.
“Decor & Color Show – affirms Giulio Cesare Alberghini, Managing Director of MADE eventi - has importance as an event conceived not only to promote and sell products, but also to produce communication and create trends in style and new fashions: it’s a large container of creativity in which, thanks to the willingness of exhibitors, visitors can get a first-hand view of products and imagine how they can be used in the context of their own field of action”.
And that’s not all: “The fact of being included within the framework of MADE expo, an exhibition that focuses interest and attention on the world of architecture, design and decorating, contributes to enhancing the contextualisation of colour, which is increasingly fundamental in home living. In recent years, the collective taste has changed radically, the desire for colour has imposed veritable fashions. In this evolution a lot of credit goes to manufacturers, who have been capable of creating paints with material, textural and performance effects able to seduce and find ever new applications, first in the collective spaces of showrooms and hotels, and then in homes. We therefore expect to see an even greater attention to colour than in the past on the part of designers, architects and planners, of all those who use colour to create trends”.
“The great desire for colour is only just beginning - concludes Alberghini -. In very little time, in fact, it has spread from the walls to the doors, windows and floors. That is why colour will be, to an even greater extent than in the past, a crucial element of MADE expo: because it will catalyse the attention of technicians, designers, contractors, distributors and domestic and foreign manufacturers”.
COLOUR, BUT NOT ONLY
Colour as a driving element, therefore. However, we shouldn’t forget that the world of finishes is not limited solely to colour. In the ‘home system’, in fact, today there is a demand for energy performance which imposes new solutions and new coating systems, even more so than new paints. That’s why at the next Decor & Color Show, the spotlight will be on thermal insulating coatings, high-tech exterior finishing cycles, photocatalytic and nanoparticle-based paints, as well as accessories with better and better performance features and in tune with the evolution of the sector. So not only colour, but also innovation and technology: these will no doubt be the distinctive features of the next Decor & Color Show. |
